Statement of Faith

The Holy Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and complete Word of God. We believe that it was written by holy men of old as they were moved upon and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The Eternal Godhead (1 John 5:7) We believe in one God, maker of heaven and earth, who is eternal and self-existent, manifested to man as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

The Deity of Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3, 14; Luke 1:34,35; Colossians 1:16) We believe that Jesus Christ pre-existed with God and in the form of God. We believe that He is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We believe that the world and all it contains was created by Jesus Christ.

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit (John 15:26; 16:8-14) We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, and to empower the believer. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity and is at work today drawing man to Christ, and is manifested within the body of Christ through His gifts and fruit in the lives of believers.

The Fall of Man (Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23) We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that by voluntary disobedience and transgression he fell from purity and perfection to the depths of sin and iniquity. We believe that as a consequence of man’s sin, all mankind are sinners, inclined to evil and iniquity and are worthy of the sentence of death from a just and holy God.

Basis of Salvation (John 3:16; Romans 5:8, 10:9,10; 1 John 4:10) We believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, signing the pardon for all who believe on Him and confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe that there is no atonement for our sin apart from the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, that He is the sacrifice and propitiation for our sin. We believe that He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father and will judge the living and the dead.

Salvation through Grace (Ephesians 2:8) We believe that man can be justified only by grace through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that before salvation we have no righteousness of our own and must come to God through the righteousness of Christ.

Repentance and Acceptance (1John 1:9) We believe that upon sincere repentance and a wholehearted acceptance of Christ as Lord, we are justified before God.

The New Birth (John 3:5-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20) We believe that upon repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord, a regeneration and renewal occurs that constitutes our new birth. We believe that the change which takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a literal one that is the result of being born of the Spirit of God.

Daily Christian Life (Hebrews 6:1; 1 Peter 1:15,16) We believe that it is the will of God that we live a sanctified and holy life, growing constantly in faith.

Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19) We believe that baptism, by immersion in water, identifies us with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. We believe that baptism is an outward sign of the inward work of salvation.

The Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) We believe in the observance of the Lord's Supper by the symbolical use of the bread and the juice of the vine in remembrance of Jesus.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5, 2:4) We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an additional impartation which may be subsequent to regeneration (Acts 8:15-17, 19:1-6). We believe that the purpose of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power to be a witness (Acts 1:8, 5:32), and that His empowering is after the same manner as in Biblical days. We believe that this baptism is accompanied by the gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues, prophecy, etc (Acts 2:4; 9:17,18; 10:44-46; 19:1-6). We believe that this gift is presently available to all who believe (Acts 2:38-39), but is not essential for salvation or regeneration.

The Gifts and the Fruit of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-13, 30-32) We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow to every believer. We believe that these gifts need to be exercised by faith to fulfill their divine purpose of blessing to a lost and dying world and in the body of Christ. We believe that it is the will of God that we walk in the Spirit continually and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life.

Divine Healing (Matthew 8:17, 18:18-19; Mark 16:15-18; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24) We believe in divine healing of the body as part of the atoning work of Jesus Christ. We believe that divine healing is the provision of Christ to heal the sick in response to the exercise of faith, the prayer of faith, the prayer of agreement, anointing with oil, the gifts of healing or the laying on of hands.

The Second Coming (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) We believe in the literal, physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take authority and rule on earth. We believe that those who are alive in Christ and remain at the return of our Lord will be changed and caught up to be with Him in the air. Those who have died in the faith will be resurrected and precede those who are alive in being changed and caught up to be with Him.

The Church (Acts 13:1-3; 16:5; Hebrews 10:25) We believe that the true Church is composed of such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that it is our responsibility as believers to identify and actively participate with the local and visible church of Christ. We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is God’s instrument to establish and extend God’s Kingdom until the literal coming of Christ to reign over all the earth.

Civil Government (Romans 13:1-5) We believe that the laws of the land should be upheld at all times except in matters opposed to the Word of God.

The Final Judgment (2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:11-13) We believe that all shall stand one day before God in judgment, and there receive eternal reward or eternal judgment. We believe in the literal, physical resurrection of both the just and the unjust for the Day of Judgment. For those who have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on our behalf, this resurrection is for eternal life in fellowship with God. Those who are not justified by faith in Jesus Christ are resurrected for an eternal judgment.

Heaven (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17) We believe that Heaven is a literal place, eternally existent.

Hell (Revelation 20:10,15) We believe that Hell is a literal place of eternal torment for all who reject the Lord Jesus.

Evangelism (Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; James 5:20) We believe that winning souls and making disciples is the Great Commission given to the Church. We believe that Christ wants the members of His Church to carry the Gospel into the entire world, to every nation and ethnic group.

Tithes and Offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7; Hebrews 7:8) We believe that the method ordained of God for the support and spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ is through the giving of tithes and free-will offerings.

Worship (John 4:24; Psalm 150) We believe that the "acceptable" and "true" worship is prescribed by God Himself in His Word. This embodies individual and corporate expressions of praise and thanksgiving and reverence in holiness.

Church Government (1 Peter 5:1-5; Ephesians 4:11-16) We believe in church government to ensure order, and we believe in loyalty to those acting in rightful authority as they lead us in the Lord. We believe in the function of the five-fold ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers) which was given to perfect and equip believers so they can enter into the work of their ministry, thereby edifying the whole body of Christ.

Tolerance within the Body (1 John 4:7; Romans 12:18) We believe in Christian tolerance to all who believe in the deity and redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ

Unity, Liberty, and Love We believe that in the essentials there must be unity, in non-essentials—liberty, and in all things—love.
