Jim and Julie are elders/overseers at TACF. Jim also trains and empowers in marketplace ministry, while Julie oversees the dance and flag worship at TACF. Jim and Julie met at Fairhaven College in Washington in 1969, became Christians in 1972, and have been married for 36 years. They have three children, Joshua, Joel, and Jasmine.
Jim studied Visual Communications in college, and has worked in the business world in many capacities. Julie studied both English and dance in college and has a BA from Western Washington University. She taught part time in Christian schools from 1978 through 1995. She later became a freelance writer and a dance and theater critic for newspapers in the Seattle area.
Jim and Julie have had the opportunity to work in almost every area in the church over the years, including teaching all ages, overseeing youth and young marrieds, working in a food bank, and serving on church councils. Julie has performed dances in church since the '70's. In 1995 Jim and Julie were asked to pioneer a new ministry at Victory Foursquare in Marysville, WA called "More Ways to Praise," which integrated dance, mime, theater and multi-media into worship and outreach performances. In 2001, both were touched and powerfully affected at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, and by the message of the Father's love. Soon after, Jim felt impressed to start a ministry of establishing and supporting orphanages in third world countries. Although there were no funds at the time for such a venture, Jim, encouraged by the pastor to step out in faith, created “Legacies of Life” a nonprofit foundation that has helped establish two children’s homes in India, which have grown to support forty orphaned children. Since then, Jim has made several ministry trips to India, and his heart for that nation continues to expand.
